This Weeks Poem

   Five Little Leprechauns

Five little leprechauns dressed in green

They’re the funniest men

I’ve ever seen

The 1st one has a big gold ring
The 2nd one has a song to sing
The 3rd one wears a funny wig
The 4th one likes to dance a jig
The 5th one nods his head to say

“We wish you a happy St. Patrick’s Day!”

Raz kids

Hi everyone,

I know that some people have been asking about Raz kids.

What is Raz Kids?- It is a website and an app where students can read books at their level.

How do I know what level my child is reading at?- I have set your child’s reading level in their profile and I am able to track their progress. At the end of each book is a quiz to see if they understood the story; I am able to see these results and adjust your kids level if needed.

How do I keep my child motivated?- Every time your child completes a book they receive stars which they can use to build their character.

How do I get on Raz kids- You can download the app or go to www.kidsa-z.com
Username: ejhoekstra ; then choose your child’s name

We had a great first day of swimming! We will be swimming everyday this week. Here are a couple of things to take note of.
-Please make sure your child hangs up their towel and bathing suit up when they get home; so they have dry things for tomorrow.
-Friday we will be swimming.

In math we are learning....

Math: In math students are working on adding and subtracting skills. Here is a list of skills and questions we are covering in math groups.
- 1 more and 2 more ( example: Sara what is 1 more than 15? or Bill what is 2 more than 21?)
- 1 less and 2 less ( example: Elizabeth what is 1 less than 13? or Andrew what is 2 less than 27?)
- adding doubles ( example: 1+1=, 2+2=, 4+4=, 5+5=, 6+6=, 8+8=, 9+9=, 10+10=, 20+20, 50+50= )
- doubles plus 1 ( example 4+5 you could think 4+4 plus 1 more is 9)
-making ten ( example: list all the ways you can make 10. )
-Fact families for example give your child 3 numbers and have them write down all the facts that go with those numbers.
6,7 13
7+6=13 13-7=6
6+7=13 13-6=7
